Windows XP Logon

OK, weird one...daugther at college broke the 'H' key from her laptop, no
longer can get an 'H' and of course, its in her Windows Logon password.
I have no idea how to defeat this so she can have acces to laptop for
school work (yeah right...). A new keyboard is on its way, but in the
meantime, I'm looking for suggestions on how to disable this option without
using the password (including the 'H'.
Appreciate any help!

If she has XP Home Edition, just boot into Safe Mode where you will now
see the normally hidden Administrator account. Unless you changed it,
the default password is a blank. Log in with that account and go to the
User Accounts applet in Control Panel. You can then remove your
daughter's password entirely.

If you have XP Pro, at the Welcome Screen you can do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice
to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in "Administrator" and the
password for the Administrator account (which will be whatever you used
when you set up the machine).

Additionally, many laptops have a plug in port for a PS2 keyboard or mouse, and assuming the laptop has USB ports, you could also use a USB keyboard to bypass the built-in one.
