Having an issue with XP taking too long to boot up. I
used to run XP Home and everything worked fine. Problem
started once I upgraded to XP Pro. Now, every time I
start my PC it starts to boot up, brings up the destop and
some of the items and then computer "freezes". It remains
in this state for probably 2 minutes or so, eventually,
the two network connections come up as being inactive (LAN
and wireless) and the rest of destop items load up at that
time. I can't use PC at all during the 2-minute "break",
however, once network connections process is done PC works
fine from there. I don't have either connection active
(no LAN or wireless connections set up at home), so it's
even a bigger waste of time from that standpoint. Any
suggestions on how to fix this without disabling network
connections all together (I'm assuming that's where the
problem is)? Thanks.
