Windows XP Locks up during start

Hello, My laptop has Windows XP Pro and it locks up during start in the
progress scan windows.

I tried starting in Safe Mode and scanned for viruses and found no problems
and viruses. I tried restoring to an older working setup and it still fails
to start. Please help!

Sounds like some hardware failure.
