Windows Xp lock-up

M

martin007

I just installed a new Western digiital hard drive. Using
their utlity, i formatted the new drive. it locks up all
the time. I noted that the drive is formatted "NTFS"?
instead of fat 32, while my slave drive is formatted in
fat32. Could this be a reason that I 'm locking up all
the time..

thanks in advance--

Is your Operating System on the Drive that is FAT32? If yes, then you
won't be able to see the NTFS
drive and use it. If just the opposite then you are OK. There are
many causes for system lockups or
freezes. It could be hardware, software or a combination of both. Did
you do a clean install of XP on
the new drive? or Imaged it?
