Windows XP keeps detecting my printer as a new device

I have a Brother 1030 printer installed and working fine.
But every time I start windows it is detected as a new
device.
This has happened before after a reinstall and there was
a solution but I can't find it or remember it!
Can anybody point me in the right direction please?
