I think I have screwed up the boot.ini

After uninstalling Linux, removing some hard drives, this
is where I am now. WinXP will boot if it is the only HD
on the system. If I put another (slave) on the same
cable, which I just installed via Western Digital auto-
install and format, WinXP will just boot and restart in a
continous loop.

I have done winxp recovery and fdsk /mbr
I have also done fixboot c

any other ideas?

What do you mean by another slave on the same cable?
One should be Master (the one on the end) and
the other should be Slave. Or both as cable select
if you have the IDE cable and port that supports it.
