I have noticed that every time I do a Windows Update it
seems to save the uninstall information. I just want the
patches installed and will never to want to remove them. I
currently have XP fully patched without any Apps installed
(not even Acrobat reader), System Restore has been
disabled from the moment of first installation. My current
dirve use is now at 3GIGS with nothing installed.

Anyone know how to ditch the unistall info for the
critical service packs??

If you are certain that you'll never want to uninstall an update, just
delete it. Then go to Add/Remove Programs and attempt to uninstall it.
You'll get an error message asking if you want to remove the entry from
Add/Remove Programs.

Wondering if you realize that you do have XP installed on
your drive, which will take up at least 1.5 - 3 GIG on your
HD by itself........your updates were probably only about
30-40 MGs.

Sorry for the stupid question, but where would you find
the "windows Update" to delete? I see them in the
add/remove programs area? Thanks

yes, remove them from the contro panel by clicking 'remove'.

by doing this you are only removing 'uninstall' programs and not the upates
themselves.
