Just rebuilt my machine and am using a Western Digital
160GB HD Got to windows setup to delete current partition
and make to partitions about 80GB a piece. I did the
quick format and it copied the setup files. The computer
rebooted and now when it gets to the windows setup screen
i get this blue screen that says:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Stop 0x000000D1 (0X2D07350, 0X00000002, 0X00000001,
0XF8989FCF)

Could this be a bad Hard Drive, Or what could be causing
this. And what can I do to fix this!!!!

Thanks

Have you used any disk utilities with the new drive. This message indicates
a driver trying to access a memory address and can't.
If it were my system, I'd start again from the top, with a full format not
the quick one, then try installing Windows again.
I wouldn't use any third party disk utils either, just to see if that was
the problem.

The only thing I used was Windows XP utility. I went to
windows Setup and cleared all the partitions and then did
a quick NTFS format and then it acted up. Now when i
starts to let me in setup, it won't let me get past the
part where it says do you want to install, repair or
exit. When I hit enter to begin setup, bam blue screen
comes up with this error and I toast. Can't get any
further than that.

Thanks

Another classic error message, about as useful as
the "keyboard missing error, press F1 to continue".

You can't effectively copy an XP installation, many
critical files just won't copy over to a new drive or
partition unless you use Ghost or similar.

You may need to do a complete new installation. A good tip
is to copy the CD onto the harddrive and run setup from
the hard drive version. Sorry if this is bad news but it
may be the way forward.
