I cannot start my hp ze4430us w/ xp-home...system locked
up during presentation of "Super Home Suite" by Punch
Software...tried to end task mgr...nogo...had to shut
down...tried to power up...system is locked...only power
light comes on w/ LED's for hot keys...no screen at
all...no flicker, no blue screen, no HP / Win
screen....just blank....no boot up sequence
either...cannot start in safe mode...cannot boot from cd
w/ o/s disc either...is there any way to access the bios
without F8....my thought is that the HD has crashed,
which is hard to accept as this unit is new,the other is
that the bios was corrupted in someway that it won't boot
from the cd....PLEASE HELP !!!! my system has been down
for 3 days w/ no luck!!! Anybody have a
suggestion...greatly appreciate it!!!

Hello
Sounds like a bad ram chip, bad motherboard, or bad processor.
If it is a new computer contact HP for it will be under warranty for 1 year.

Open the case, locate the CMOS jumper, reset CMOS.Usually setting pin from
1-2,to 2-3 for 10 to 15 sec. does it,then return jumper to 1-2.Then turn on power
to computer, when starting, immediatly tap the key for BIOS,in BIOS,exit page,
select, load set-up defaults,ok,then adjust video display if card is used, then exit page,
save and exit BIOS.
