Yesterday I bought msoffice 2003 edition.

When I bring up publisher and then try to use word to edit the story.
Windows tells me that I do not have enough memory.

Shut down programs and try again.

I have no problem using xp profession edition on another computer using
windows xp home version there as well.

So I have tried a number of things and called the smartest pc friend that I
have all to no avail.

Is this problem to new for anyone else to have taken notice or is it just
me?

cheers, walt

If the pagefile is set with a specific minimum and maximum size, try letting
the system manage the pagefile. Open Control Panel, open System, go to the
Advanced tab, click Settings under Performance, go to the Advanced tab,
click Change under Virtual Memory, if custom size is selected, select
"System Managed Size, click Set and ok, reboot the system and try again with
your application to see if you get the same message.

Hi Michael,

Yes, I get the same message.
I have already tried those combinations.
I will try it once more. If it does not work I will give it up.
Thank you.
Cheers, Walt

Also, be sure you have plenty of free space on the drive on which the
pagefile resides in order to give it room to grow.

In addition, check the knowledge base article below. It's not
exactly the same but it might help resolve the issue:

The answer is quite simple - uninstall NAV and your problem will be solved.
This is a very common issue we see at least four times a week over in the
Publisher group(s). The issue has nothing whatsoever to do with Microsoft
and/or Publisher and is clearly documented in Symantec's KB
(http://tinyurl.com/tjbk). Follow the instructions as laid out in that
article and your problem will be fixed.

For future reference, please remember that these groups are for issues
with - and only with - the Windows XP operating system, and not applications
installed thereupon - irrespective of who publishes them.
