Have you tried repairing the installation by using the cd, powering off &
then back on? I'd recommend upgrading your ram if possible. There's no
such thing as too much ram but too little can contribute to, or cause,
problems.

Try downloading the newest bios for your motherboard(that
correspond to your Motherboard version). I used to
experience similair difficulties, but downloading the bios
for my motherboard version seemed to fix it.

Always keep antivirus and spy removal applications (links on the bottom of the page) up-to-date, and scan regularly.

Make sure that you don't have any hardware or programs that are conflicting
or not functioning properly. Also, make sure that you don't have corrupt
files.

What I think you do is to go to start>run>msconfig>startup
Go down and delete each of the programs one at a time to
find out which program in start-up is causing the problem
check task manager (ctr alta delete) to find any programs
running and then the process tab to see if one program is
taking up more bandwith than is correct.
if that fails go to www.expert-exchange.com and help is
only points away.
