windows xp home install wont partition

okay i am lost ... i was trying to reinstall windows xp home on m
laptop .. i deleted my old partition and then created a new one an
then continued with install i hit to reformat that partition and i
trys to but then tells me it can not format there may be a problem an
to pick another partition to reformat ... i have tried everything i ca
think of and no luck .. any help would be awesome .. thank

i used the windows xp home cd instalation disk that came with my laptop
when i bought it ...
