Windows XP Home file associatopns

In 98SE I had all image files associated with Irfanview and double clicking on the file
name opened them in Irfanview. Since upgrading to XP home when I double click the file
name they open in Internet Explorer even through I went into Irfanview and associated all
image files with Irfanview plus in Foler Options, File Types the majority are still set
for Irfanview. How do I get them to open in Irfanview again??

Plus in 98SE if I highlighted file name and right clicked on it I would have the option
"Open with" if I held the Control or Shift key down.

How do I get them to open in Irfanview again?

With XP you should have the Open With choice by just right clicking on an
image file. Then you can click Choose Program, pick Irfanview and check the
box to always use that program.

An even easier way might be to reinstall IrfanView if there are a lot of file
types that are not opening in IrfanView. Often programs associate themselves
with file types as a part of installation. If you install something that
wants to associate itself with graphics files (or certain graphics files), it
may take that association away from IrfanView.

Occupational Health and Safety means MS directors could be fined in NSW,

I've been using Dialog (a newsreader) for over a year. Has a little handy
button that suppresses quoted material when reading. I see something like
this when reading:

So and so wrote:
(43 lines suppressed)

and then the reply follows in full text. Click a button and I can toggle
entire content to text. Nice feature and miss it when I use OE or OE +OE
Quotefix. Sure makes for easier reading with bottom posted replies.

Personally, I bottom post replies because I like the flow in conversation
it provides but I hate scrolling through something I just read when looking
at replies. Go figure :)

Me too. :-D

Bottom vs. top posting argument is akin to gas vs. electric stove.
Preference only.

I just know someone is going to post saying they like a gas oven with an
electric cooktop. ;-)
