Recently purchased new pc with Windows XP Home Edition
installed. Has ability for text to speech yet system
state ability for speech to text. Have been unable to
perform this function. Have contacted microsoft support
and have been given run around. Does anyone know if
Windows XP Home Edition capable of speech to text or can
it be downloaded. Microsoft support can not even tell me
if Home Edition should be capable. They are of no help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows XP does not come with any built-in speech recognition software.

Your PC, however, may have been bundled with some third-party speech
recognition software. You should check with the manufacturer of that product
for support.

Or, are you referring to the speech recognition software that comes with
Office XP?
