I loaded xp on two computers and now I need to remove 1
and purchase another xp home. Can I put the new copy
over the old instead of removing it and having to
reinstall all of my other software.

In theory you can but I wouldn't recommend it.
Your saying you installed on both computers using the same license?
I would say your better off to do a clean install.

most computers come with a tipe of windows on it but yes and no u need to custom it or just get read of one and use one as a seaver

No need, you can install one copy twice and be legal as long a you own
two licenses so do nothing. If there's an activation problem, activate
over the phone, tell them you own two copies but used the same key to
install both.

Wanna bet others have done the same thing?

That is true unless you downloaded a activation hack in which case you still
need to reinstall Windows and Re-activate.

I'm probably wrong but I always ass-u-me that those who post here are
talking asking LEGAL copies of software?

Of course, I believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, also....

That's something I most definitely wouldn't ass-u-me.
Besides the op already admitted having installed it on two computers.
I am not saying a hack was usd to activate but it definitely could have
been.
There is no Easter Bunny & Santa Claus??? OMG! I'm devistated!
