Hi ~ Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition was already installed on my computer
when I bought it. I have also bought an External USB Back Up facility.
When I back up the computer gives me a page file error. Apparently I need
to install Ntbackup.exe.
Is there a free download available from Microsoft?

Do you have anything uat
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Backup ?

Otherwise (unless it's excluded from Home edition) it should be
installable from your Windows Repair CDs. You should have these or be
able to get these from your computer supplier (not Microsoft!).

Hi Mike ~ thank you for your response I just need to clarify I don't have the
facility of Backing Up through Accessories/SystemTools/.
Are you saying that I need to go to PC World where I bought my hard drive
from for a Ntbackkup.exe, not download it from Microsoft? I do pay a
maintenance insurance at PC World, would I need to take my harddrive with me
in order for them to install it?
Many thanks once again.

Cheers for that I will try that. I like the joke.
Best wishes from the third type of person in computing!!

It's on the XP CD. D:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP Double click to add it
to your start\all programs\accessories\system tools
If you don't have a disc then you can download it from here:
http://www.winxptutor.com/ntbackup.msi
TTFN.

Even if your support information is correct and helpful; when you snip all
the post you reply to it makes it very difficult for anyone not familiar
with the thread to know what you are talking about. Please include enough of
the post you reply to to make your reply relevant.

My apologies Michael my original problem was not being able to backup my
computer onto an External USB hardrive because of a page file error.
Microsoft Windows XP was already installed so I don't have a CD to run, but I
apparently need an Ntbackup.exe and I asked if I could get a free download
anywhere.
Although I have found this website very helpful, I am still finding my way
around it ~ so sorry if I haven't been using it correctly. Kind regards
Shirley

It's a lost cause. He's been told that umpteen times, but he thinks he knows
better than everybody else, and refuses to go along with standard
netiquette.
