I installed Windows XP Home Edition to my computer last
night. It said my computer would be fast and more
reliable. It didn't happen. What do I do?

Did you do a clean install or an upgrade?
If you did an upgrade, problems you had before will follow you.
If you did a clean install, have you turned on your firewall, updated with
the critical updates (at least) found at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
and installed/updated your antivirus software and installed/updated some
anti-spyware apps?

What didn't happen, anyway?
