I have a DELL [1 year old] with Win XP Pro, and an HP [1 month old] WS with XP Home Edition. I have a cable modem/Router connecting them to the Internet.

I have two questions:

Can I leave the XP Home Box on for a few days at a time without the Opr system freezing up?

With Zone Alarm Pro installed, and I use Spybot Search and Destroy, is it safe to leave it on?

You sure can. I leave mine on for weeks at a time. This increased stability
is one of the many improvements in Windows XP.

Is it safe to leave what on - Zone Alarm or SS&D? Firewalls are supposed to
be 'on' all the time - that's the idea behind a firewall.

Thanks Tom

I meant would it be safe to leave on my PC for a few days knowing that The Zone alarm is enough protection. I also have a router, but need to probably look into setting it up as a Firewall, if it is not already

Sure, you can leave your computer on with Zone Alarm running. In fact, I
wouldn't leave my computer on without it. I don't have a home network
myself - that'll be my next big project - so I can't speak authoritatively
about routers.
