Windows XP Home Edition Locks Up

Our Dell 8200 Dimension Windows XP Home Edition PC has been working great
since we purchased it in early 2002.

In the last week or so, it locks up (screen freezes + pointer won't move).
We have to do a hard shut-down and reboot.

I've run through Norton WinDoctor which didn't find any problems.

We have not installed or changed any software except for keeping up with
Windows fixes.
