I have a compaq presario 3045US laptop that I have had for about 7 months it has been giving me problems. It seems that when i have my computer shutdown for a long period of time it crashes when I turn it back on! I am not an expert at computers but I know it doen't suppose to do that. I have asked for help and no one could help me. My last options was to remove the OS and install a new one, which i did and it seem to have worked until 2 days later when it started doing the same thing again. Everytime the computer crashes i am forced to press the power button. After that i try to start the computer again the power comes on but nothing else works the computer do not boot or anything it just sits there making a fan noise. After all that, if i turn power off and back on one more time the computer seems to work fine for along time. This process starts all over again when i start the computer again after it has been shutdown for along time. I thinking I need to return the computer under the warranty. what do you think? If anybody can help me in anyway your services will be greatly apprecited.

Hi Hagan,

Sure sounds like a hardware issue, if it's under warranty then yes, you
should return it for warranty service.

That's what the warranty is for - you've got problems that you can't resolve
yourself, time to at least call for warranty service or help.

I would return it if possible. Sounds to me that you might have an
intermittent electrical short in one of your cables - a darn near impossible
problem to isolate and correct.

Greetings --

Since the laptop is still within its warranty period, I strongly
suggest that you contact the manufacturer and insist that they fix
your problems _before_ the warranty period lapses.
