I periodically get a popup message that says I have
missing files and that I need to install the service pack
1 cd. XP was installed by viscom (the company I bought
the computer from) but the warranty support has expired
and they want to charge me a fee for support. I tried to
find service pack 1 as a download from Microsoft but it's
no longer available. I'm also having problems
downloading Microsoft upgrades. Has anyone had this
problem and how was it resolved.
Thanks

Windows Update, which you should visit weekly, searches your computer and
determines which updates you need. You can find Windows Update in many ways,
but the easiest way is to open your Start menu. It's right there.
