Windows XP Hangs

Just recently Windows XP has started to "hang up" for no
reason when doing different tasks. If I go and leave the
machine and come back it usually sorts itself out. Ive run
msconfig and shut down non essential items in startup,
deleted all files in temp folder, run defrag, nothing has
helped. Any ideas??

Have you scanned it for spyware? If not, go to
download.com and type in Spybot and Adaware. Use them back
to back, what one doesn't get, the other usually does.
Also do you have some type of >up to date< virus
protection installed on your system? If not, do so.
