Hello,

I've been having this problem for several month and don't
know what's causing it.

My computer will randomly hang when I start a program. It
doesn't happen with a specific program, it can happen
with any.

It usually happens soon after I turn it on when i start
the first program. However, it has happened randomly at
other times.

For example, I'll double click on IE, nothing will
happen. I'll try other programs, nothing will happen.
However, if I right click on icons or the desktop, the
menus still come up. If I choose something in the menu,
nothing happens.

Then, anywhere between 2 and 25 minutes later, all the
things I clicked on to open, open all at once!!

CTRL + ALT + DEL doesn't even work! If I do CTRL + ALT +
DEL, the task manager just comes up later with everything
else!!

It's driving me mad! I have no idea what is wrong. No
viruses, I've got rid of all spyware, i've defraged and
run checkdisk. all devices are working.

Any ideas?? This is the first support forum I've tried.

Thanks!

Yes. I have all the windows updates, and all current
updates for all my drivers etc.

I've done disk clean, defrag, chkdsk all about once a
week (or more frequently).

I've done virus checks and spyware checks daily.

I'm at a loss!

Underpowered Power Supply? I have seen this cause the symptoms that you
describe.

How could I find that out? By power supply, what exactly
do you mean?? The computer is now only about a year old.
It's a Toshiba laptop.

Thanks!

Oh, and would the outlets in my apartment have anything
to do with it? Because I live in a very very old house
(125 years old). Could they have screwed up my power
supply some how?

I did some research. This is my power supply:

75W external Universal AC adaptor input voltage (100 -
240V 50/60Hz Frequency (Universal), output voltage (15V,
5A)

Can I even get a better one? Is this something a warrenty
should cover.
