My son has an IBM thinkpad - older computer- that crashed. He had Windows XP
installed on it. He has taken it off and tried to reinstall XP but it gets
to the window that says "installing devices" and freezes at 35 minutes left.
We have tried over and over again to get it to continue from this point, but
it just sits there. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
The PC had previously worked fine but froze up for some reason. I am not
tech savvy, so I need small words and detailed instructions as to what to do
please. Thanks for any suggestions prior to me taking it to a computer shop
and paying out the ying yang!

I was doing a clean install. Now I can't start over, I can't go forward, it
just gets to the install window and stops. I am at a loss!

Please read the info on the links provided and try to check the HDD health
by downloading the Hard drive diagnostic tools from IBM nd run a check for
both HDD and RAM.
If it is too much take the machine to your local Repair shop for them to
install the OS for you and check the health of the HDD.
