Windows XP freazing

Can somone tell me why my windows xp keeps on freazing for like 10secs at a time!This is annoying due to playing games etc. could it be that my pc is overheating?Ive never had these problems before only until a few months ago..

take it to a local shop...have it checked out...

Put a Blanket on it and turn up the HEAT real HIGH, give it a cup of
cocco and a few asprins shel be right.

Games do run you pc much hotter. Just monitor your CPU temp.
