Hi,
I have a Windows XP system (SP2 patched) with a ASUS P5AD2
Premium mainboard having two Marvel Yukon onboard network adaptors.
I want to do:
* use the first adaptor for external networking (Internet
and Remote Desktop connection) with a fixed IP.
* use the second adaptor for internal networking with a private
fixed IP(for example, 192.168.1.100) to connect to two PCs
by Remote Desktop connection.
What I found, after tens of days of testing, is that:
* initially dual networking is OK as expected,
* but, after several hours, the Remote Desktop connection from
the external network and all of Internet connection do not work.
* this is even true after disabling Marvel Yukon adaptors
on the BIOS and installing two 3Com network adaptors.
* with Windows XP Firewall log file, the outgoing Internet
connection was found to be forwarded to the second adaptor
(192.168.1.100) for the internal networking.
* if I disable the second adaptor, everything including the
Remote Desktop connection from the external network and an
outgoing Internet connection gets back to OK.
Is this a problem of Windows XP or Remote Desktop?
Thanks in advance.
