I don't really know how to title this one the best
Basically my company has 10 new computers and they each will have their
own printer. Each of the printers are the exact same make and model.
So, I took a short cut by setting up the drivers by simply using the
same monitor, WiFi, keyboard, mouse and printer and swapping out the
towers themselves to install the drivers on each. Soon I will need to
setup the computers at their actually work stations (when the
workstations arrive) After a few tests I realized that once I plug in
the actual devices that will be permanently setup with each tower
everything else works fine. However, Windows knows the difference
between the printers and wants to install all new drivers for that
unique printer. I knew that would happen but unfortunately I was also
expecting to re-bind the port to that printer and be done with it.
Windows seems to be fine with that to a certain degree, in other words
it doesn't fail the print...rather it goes through the print process
successfully, and I get nothing out of the printer. Does anyone know
an easy Windows fix rather than reinstalling the printer drivers?
It's one of those challenges that has been bugging me more that
anything, something I'd like to know for future reference. There has
just got to be a quick fix.......Thanks!!!
