Hi,In the MS Windows XP Update site a new Video driver is
shown as available for my computer.
Should I download the new driver directly on to my
computer or should I uninstal the existing driver first.
Thanking you

I would consider whether you want to download a video driver
at all. Are you having a problem now? Is the driver REALLY
the correct driver for your system? Have you read all the
details on the MS site and have you also looked at the
driver site (NVIDIA or ATI) to see what they have?

I would never download the WindowsUpdate driver. My personal experience is
that the driver is way out of date, compared to the ones the video card
manufacturer has on their web site. Also, I have had a complete system
crash, in Windows 2000, caused by such a driver update.

Microsoft does not make video cards so always get the latest available
drivers from your video card manufacturer's web site. Only update drivers
whenever you have problems with the installed ones on your system or
whenever a software package, usually games, requires a later version than
yours.

i have a same problem with my modem. i can't update my modem driver. or i
can't install new modem.
and can't install null modem for my popuses in networking my pc with another
by serial cable.

Why not install 2 network cards? Network speeds are much fast than serial
speeds.
