Windows XP doesn't restart

I'm using Windows XP Home Edition (SP1) and whenever I
restart windows, my computer hangs up at the windows logo
screen. Does anyone know anything about this?

Next time you start the computer tap F8 continuously. You should get a
Menu that will give you a few
choices. Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt. Then follow the
instruction below at Command
Prompt.
Type: %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe Then press
Enter.

I am having the same problem. It hangs up at the shutdown

screen. I have to hit the reset button to get it to
restart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
