Windows XP desktop problem.

Any time I left click an icon it highlights all the icons before it. If
I double click an icon it highlights and loads all the highlighted
applications. Same thing if I right click and icon it highlights all
preceding icons. Any one have any ideas on how to fix this?

I just checked and it happens in all folders.

This can happen if one of your shift keys is stuck down or if communications
between your keyboard and computer is disrupted so that the computer thinks
one of the shift keys is down. In the latter case just pressing and
releasing each shift key in turn will usually cure it.
