Our Windows XP crashed last week. The only applications running at the time
were Norton System Works and WinMX.
A blue screen was up and it said if this happens again an applicatioin would
need to be reinstalled.
We shut down the PC with the power button on the back as the front one had
no effect. Everything started up ok again, but when we tried to use Norton
System Works applications they were very slow to start. Also in explorer,
if we right click any information is very slow to appear. Everything else
starts up fine.
We uninstalled System Works and reinstalled it and it made no difference.
Do we need to have Windows XP reinstalled or is there an easier fix? This
is the first such problem since we had our PC with Windows XP installed
since we purchased it 1 1/2 years ago.
