For some reason, my Dell Dimension running Windows XP has
suddenly died. It's less than 2 years old and, whilst it
will open and I can logon with no problem, I cannot open
anything on the desktop, start menu or CD Rom drive. In
fact, once the desktop is there, I can't do anything at
all. Apparently I should have a 'rescue disk' which will
cure this but I had no such thing among all the CDs that
were with the machine.
Please can someone give me an idea of what to try?
With thanks in anticipation
