windows xp compatiable with office 2000

I just upgraded to XP from 95 and I'm trying to reinstall
my Office 2000 discs but, they seem to take forever and I
can't load Disc 2 (publisher) is this program compatiable
with XP. It is a full office 4 disc program.
Help!
 
Office 2000 is fully compatible with Windows XP.
However, there is no supported upgrade path from
Windows 95 to Windows XP. You need to start over
and perform a "clean install" of Windows XP, then
install Office 2000. For help with installing Office:

Office 2000? 4 disks?

I have never seen a set that had more than 2 disks, and that was Office 2000
Professional, Small Business Edition (with Publisher)! Doesn't mean it
doesn't exist though.

Where did you get these disks from?

I think that upgrading can mean different things to different people. Some
consider changing operating systems like moving up from an older system to a
newer system as a "upgrade". This may or may not mean that they installed
overtop of their previous setup.
 
My MSDN subscription includes 4 disks for Office 2000
Disk 1 - Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, FrontPage, PowerPoint
Disk 2 - Publisher
Disk 3 - PhotoDraw, Microsoft Office Server Extensions
Disk 4 - PhotoDraw add-on files (I believe)
 
Ah! That explains it. Seeing as how the O/P is so knowledgeable, I have to
wonder where he got those disks from (-:

Usually people who subscribe to MSDN are very advanced in the computer field
and would not have to ask that type of question!

Office 2000 always was slow to install. I generally copy it to the HD and
install from there rather than installing from CD
