Are the codes on the sticker on the side of the case unique to a certain CD?

I ask this because my cousin has a Crappard Bell PC and it needs formatting. Lost the recovery disc but has the sticker on the side of the case, and wanted to know if it was possible i could post mine to him and he would use his code.

Would this work? Or is the code linked to the CD...

Crappard Bell PC ... may or may not work, they are a law unto themselves ... but Yes ... I have done this many times on other PCs, especailly as they "forget" to bring their CDs in.


... and it is not ilegal. ;)
