When the flash memory stick made by Pine is connected to my computer I'm asked to do the recommended install. I do this and windows tells me that the driver can't be found. Whats weird is that I know the drivers are on the computer because I found out what drivers I needed by installing the device on another computer and then found that my computer contained the same files.
The same problem has also occured when installing game controllers

You have some kind of problem. These memory sticks are just plugged
in and they just work. Maybe a bad piece of hardware somewhere.

JBM I have already tried directing it to the file but that still doesn't
seem to help

Maybe you have a bad USB port or Controller. Have you tried reinstalling the
drivers?
Have you tried it on more than one USB port?
Is the other computer running XP too? Maybe a service such as plug and play
isn't
running on the one that doesn't work. Not saying plug and play is the
culprit I
would compare the two systems and see if they are running the same services.
