windows xp cant download Real Player 10.5

I get the following error "Download Manager is unable to connect to the
server. The server may be temporarily unavailable, or there may be a problem
with your internet connection. Please confirm that you are on-line, then try
again."

But I'm online and connected. I think it might be getting blocked by XP
somehow I've got Windows XP home edition with service pack 2.

ideas, anyone? How do I get this download to work.
 
Several possibilities. The Server could be bussy and try a different
time of day. Or, your Security settings in IE (Internet Explorer) are
set too high. Your Firewall is blocking access. Troubleshoot, or search
using Google for many possibilities.

"Download Manager" - is that by any chance 3rd party software ?

If so disable it (normally, if you click on the file to download and hold
down the ALT key at the same time this action bypasses a downloader). Does
that work ?

Try temporarily disabling Windows' firewall just for downloading this one
file. If that works, then as Byte says, you need to adjust your firewall
settings.
