No it doesn't. Computers /never/ reboot for "no reason" - there is *always*
a reason. Start > right click 'My Computer > Properties > Advanced tab >
click 'settings' under Startup and Recovery > uncheck 'automatically
restart' under 'system failure'. The next time it crashes you'll see a blue
screen - you can look the error up here http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm.

This isn't a Windows issue - not a MS one, as it's not a Microsoft
application. Please refer to the distributor of the application for support.
3. My MS Outlook Express e-mail sometines will not

Won't it?! That *is* unfortunate...

Please read

Thank you

Also check the Event Viewer to see if any errors got reported around the
time of the unexpected reboot. What happens when you boot into Safe Mode?
What happens when you use msconfig.exe to disable all startup programs?

We are assuming that you are not overclocking, using an underpowered PSU
(power supply unit), or your power line isn't experiencing sags (and you
don't have a UPS). If it is truly spontaneous and never occurs under a
specific software environment then maybe you have bad power or faulty
hardware.

If your unable to get it going you can use either of the following for
a rescue disk so you can access your files.

If they crash as well it's probibly a hardware probblem. If not you
can use them to work out the problem.

http://on-disk.com/product_info.php?products_id=39

They are actually CDs that you can put in and run a complete operating
system just from the CD. They both give you access to your hard drive
even when windows won't boot.

There are two great reviews on those pages so you can see if they will
work for you. The second one is very much like Windows 2000.

Good luck to you!

I've run Server 2003 and it will do the same on a domain. I had to load and run a security download from Microsoft that deals with RPC
After I installed the security patch, the PC stop shutting down on it's own.
