I have gone to system tools and can not find the back up
command. My son has the same version of xp-home and his
back up command is found in the system tool drop down
window. Any ideas?

you must install it first

1) Insert the CD Rom and navigate to CD-ROM Drive:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP

2) Double-click the Ntbackup.msi file to start the wizard that installs
Backup

If you are using XP Home, you need to install the backup tools from the CD.
They are not included in a standard install, but are available if you
install them separately.

As well as ntback up, there is system restore in the system tool area.

It's a very good idea to have an extra backup since sometimes those
provided by XP may fail. Frequently recommended here is erunt.zip, a
575K freeware utility.
