I recently bought a Windows XP Disk on eBay. It was listed as brand new with COA. What I got was the companion disk to this guys new computer. He admitted that is what it is, but contends that I can still use it. My brother says that the main part has been pre-installed in his computer and the disk he sold me is to be used if he loses his original XP. Is it possible to use an XP companion disk as my operating system or not? And, is it legal to sell this companion disk? Thanks, Becki

Windows XP from microsoft (not OEM version),doesnt use a companion cd
that would be from a mfg to use specifically on one of thier machines, loadin
on a diffrent model will cause nothing but trouble for you.It also wont instal
xp if youre thinking that way, return it buy only new versions of xp.
