has anyone had experience with winxp auto shutdown after around
30mins?
I checked power settings, there is nothing wrong , all set to NEVER,
and there is no GPO settings for shutting down computer. It looks like
a security settings somewhere

Does anyone knows wat possible problem?

A few years ago, the MS Blaster worm virus was at its peak of hitting
Windows PCs. It causes Windows to shutdown after 30 minutes (???)
Are you running anti-virus, anti-psyware and firewall software to
"protect" your PC.

yes, there is symantec anti-virus client software, by saying 30mins, i
didnt mean it's shut down with exact 30mins, could be longer or shorter

Could it be a heat problem - time before shutdown given by varying workload?
Check / clean air in-/outlets and fan(s) for dust and verfy that fan(s) are
spinning as required if you have a suspicion that heat is the cause. Pay
special attention to the power supply fan (if so equipped). It could as well
be a power supply problem as such. Note temperatures in case your PC is
equipped to record them.
