I just ordered a new computer a few minutes ago and, of
course, it has Windows XP - Home Edition. My question is,
my present computer has Windows 98 and the one before that
had Windows 95 -- If I copy files from my present computer
onto floppies using Windows 98, will I be able to run them
on my new computer with Windows XP? Ditto for existing
floppies that were done on Windows 95? If not, what do I
do to get access to the information on these old floppies?
THANKS!

Although the floppy formats are identical among all versions of
Windows, some people have reported problems reading floppies
created on older versions. What usually works in those cases is
to format floppies on the Windows XP machine, then take them to
the older machine to copy files onto them.
