Windows Xp and Office 97

Dear,

Can i install office 97 on Windows XP? Becasue some of
excel and word file failed to open after upgrade the O/S
from NT 4.0 to WinXP. Is it related to regional setting
and east asian languages support?

Office 97 can be installed and used on Windows XP.

No idea what it may be related toin your case, but you should try
reinstalling Office 97 and patching it.

Upgrading from NT 4.0 to Windows XP Professional sounds dangerous to me..
Better to do a fresh installation with an OS that old, IMHO.
 
Yes, Office 97 works just fine on Windows XP. This is not the root cause.

Re "fail to open", what was the EXACT error message?

In what context to you ask your last question about regional settings
and language support? Fix whatever you are concerned you didn't do;
however, I can't think how this is pertinent. File should open, just
may not be recognisable if the right language support is not turned on.
Turn it on.
