I have a new computer with Window XP but I am still using Office 2000. Now my
files are out of order from the way they were with Windows 2000. I have used
tehe arrange by name program, but the fix is only temporary. When I close the
folder and then reopen it they are back in the improper arrangement. How can
I get the files arranged the way I want them and have them stay that way?

What's that got to do with Office 2000?

My old computer ran on Windows 2000 and my files are in Office 2000. Then I transfered my files to the new computer with Windows XP. Now my office files are arranged in different order than they were. These file names are aseries of numbers and other characters. Windows 2000 looked at each number and letter in the file name seperately and disregarded the dashes, i.d 123-705 came before 90-021 because 1 is a smaaller number than 9. Now with Window XP apparently recognizes the dash as a seperator so that 90-021 comes before 123-705 because 90 is a smaller number than 123. Is there anything I can do so that to get XP to overlook the dash? I have hundreds of files and finding them now is at times very difficult.
Thanks
Matt
