Hello Everyone,

I'm having a problem with language settings on Windows XP
Proffessional. There are two user accounts on this
machine. Both are administrator accounts. One of them
needs to be set to read Arabic text which we can read now
that we changed the Regional and Language options and
changed the Language to non-unicode programs to "Arabic
(Saudi Arabia)". All works well and Arabic text can be
read on the operating system. Now herin lies the problem:
on my account, emoticons on AOL Instant Messenger do not
appear as they should, I am getting random Arabic
characters displayed on this screen while running my IRC
client (which is set to an Arial font). Some filenames
are beginning to display Arabic characters and some
programs cannot even install properly or at all because
of this.

What I'd like to do is eliminate these problems and make
it so that one account and one account ONLY can have the
Arabic while the other has it all in English. Can anyone
please help? This is driving me crazy!

I believe that you need to remove the check mark from the "Apply all
settings to the current user account and to the default user profile" option
when changing language options in Control Panel/Regional and Language
Options/Advanced Tab. If this option is checked when you change the
settings, it will apply to the current user and any other accounts that are
created.

You may need to change all accounts back to your preferred language settings
first and then change just the specific user account again to the Arabic
Language using the above step.
