FOR WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL

You can use "Group policy editor" if you are using Windows XP Professional.
To access the tool please proceeds as follows:
1. Logon as the limited user
2. Clikc Start -> Run
3. Type "cmd.exe" (without double quotes)
4. At the command prompt type "runas /user:<computername>\administrator
cmd.exe" (without double quotes)
5. You would be prompted for the administrator password.
6. If you have typed the adminstrator password correctly, another Cmd
Window would open with the title of the Cmd Windows as "cmd.exe [running as
<computername>\administrator]"
7. In this window please type "gpedit.msc"
8. In the GP Editor, drill down and expand the following for Local Computer
Policy:
\User Configuration
\Administrative Templates
\Control Panel
\Display
\User Rights Assignment
9. On the right hand pane, open the policy "Hide Appearance Themes Tab"
10. In the "Hide Appearance Themes Tab properties", under settings, select
the radio button to "Enabled"
11. Clik "Ok" to accept changes
12. Close the Editor once the changes are made
13. In the "Cmd Window", type "gpupdate.exe" to update the Group Policy
14. Now right click the desktop and select properties. You would notice
that the "Appearance Tab" is missing.
NOTE: Please use the above Editior to change the settings you would not
like the user to view.
FOR WINDOWS XP HOME
=======================
Windows XP home does not have "Group policy" editor.
Note: The information is given below is Non-Microsoft information, but it
may help you resolve the issue.
