hello i have a freind to needs is windows xp Activation .

He does,nt have a phone or the net.

Am just saying does MS think where all on the net or phone?

Any help?
 
It's an 0800 number so he'll just have to use a payphone (it's a free number) or borrow a friends :) From what I remember it's just entering a number into the phone pad and then writing down a response number to enter, so you don't need to be at the PC necessarily.

I think it's pretty fair to assume most people have a phone or net nowadays if they own a PC - you can't please all the people all the time ;)

Agreed, surely he must be able to borrow your phone Michael? ;)
 
Not true we all are,nt on a line land today.


I had this crap with halflife 2 , i bought the game and could.nt even play it.


If company think Activation is the way forward there wrong.


Alot of Activation are crack within a few weeks.


Oh well looks like i will have to do it for him over the phone.

The only trouble is he lives a few miles away.

people in the past did,nt have mob or e-mail.

Fix it for him now anyway.

I know its an old fashioned idea but I use me feet and they take me to pubs and dances and arts centers and such like . It can be real hassle as I get to meet real people which can be a little inconvenient as you can't switch them of with a flick of a switch .

I agree not everybody has a pc or mobile ,if i had my way all mobiles would be dumped they are a ruddy pest ,having a nice cup of tea in a cafe then the person next to you starts playing his stupid phone tunes it drives me up the wall ,christ we never used to have them they are for lazy people who cannot walk
 
Lol im not saying it like that, but how would you let them know you will be at the cafe at this certain time!

I had a spectrum (This was my first computer) and no mob phone.


Free calls all day (Not 0845,etc) on cable phone for about 20 pounds per month.

Now lets see a mob phone offer this deal everyday?

You even have to pay to ring 0800 on pay as u go.

I can live without a mob and the net, but not my pc.
