Windows XP activation came up only once!

I started my new pc with Windows XP on it not connected to the internet. The activation window came up and there was a choice to do it later. Decided to do it later, figuring that a new reminder would show at some point. Now that I am connected to the internet I would like to activate XP to avoid future problems. I don't seem to get any reminders?! And when I typed some info under >run< to retrieve the activation >%systemroot%\..............etc. the file could not be found. The suggestion that came up was to locate the file under search. Anything I type in there concerning activation gives me no results.

Greetings --

The OS will let you know, with frequent reminders, if you do need
to activate. To check for yourself, Start > All Programs >
Accessories > System Tools > Activate Windows. Alternatively, Start >
Run > "C:\Windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A."
