It's coming out soon and I am sure there will be plenty of
incompatibility issues. I am wondering if there are good newsgroup
and/or web BB discussion that focus on the hurdles in hardware and
software when transitioning to 64bits. Thanks.

MS has a good one that has been active during the Beta process
find it thru their web site.
