Hello,
I have an Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard and have a RAID 0 Array set up where i
need to install Windows x64 Ultimate edition. I have searched all over the
net but no body seems to be able to install Windows Vista on the Promise 378
Raid controller.
I have contacted both Promise and Asus and nether seem to think it is their
problem.
I really would like to get it working has anyone managed to install Vista
using the Promise 378?
Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.
Chris.

Can't offer any help other than tell you that it "appears" Asus is having an
across the board RAID/SATA problem on this series of motherboards. I have
the A8N32-SLI Deluxe and the nForce4 drivers do not work when I try to
install x64 to a (non-RAID) SATA drive. Loads fine to an IDE drive and
runs. Nvidia is "looking into" the problem.

I've done a lot of research the past few days but yours is the first post
mentioning the Promise as being a problem. I'm assuming you also have the
32 bit version - can you load that? Tried x64 in a non-RAID mode? Be sure
the BIOS has RAID turned off.

Hello,

At present i do not own Vista. I am waiting to buy it, but i am not prepared
to buy whilst it has compatbility issues with hardware that has been about
for over 12 months.

To be honest i am not even that bothered about getting x64 the 32 bit would
do but that also seems to be having the same problems with the Promise
Fastrak 378 drivers. I have not actually heard of anyone being able to get it
working yet.

Hopefully someone may have got these working and can post a response that
can help.

Cheers,
