I have cut off all of my audio. I don't know how I did it, by downloading
something. I wanted to download Windows 9.5 ever since I have no audio. When
I go to device manger I get no audio device.

I think you probably uninstalled the audio device....Try add or remove
programs to find the device....

Add/Remove programs will not help to find his sound card. It "may" help, if and only if, Sidd added a program & it is the problem-source & he can find it is listed.

Check on loose cables from your pc to your speakers. Check to see that Windows' system volume is not set to "mute".
In other words, be sure to check other things.

Just what program or utility did you download?

Go back to Device Manager, and see what is listed under "Sound, video, and game controllers". Click the + sign to expand the list.

Sorry, Meant to say, add or remove programs

:nods in agreement:

Just moved the computer yesterday and was worried that I had lost sound
until I remembered to turn the speakers back on (they have a separate
on/off/volume dial).

I have a similar problem (too low, not "no" sound)... I've checked to
see if any setting is on mute, but it's not. I have earphones
attached and everything is turned up high, but the volume is low.
I've checked the connection at the back but it seems okay. Should I
check something else?

I had this problem and it turned out to be PowerDVD hogging the sound card
and not letting other applications access it! So if you have downloaded
something similar then this could be happening to you too. If uninstalling
the app doesn't work then try rebooting to a previous configuration.

I was suggesting checking all external audio cables. Beyond that, try to remember if you (or anyone) made hardware changes or maybe even added new software applications.

Click on the Audio icon in the System Notification area. See what the audio levels are set to. ( I think you checked that already).

I think they added Office after arrival... I'll ask about that. Tech
support is coming out sometime soon, maybe I can get them to
troubleshoot my problem without submitting a blue form.

Yes, I checked that...

Not to my knowledge.
